Wow. What can I say, Avatar is gonna rule the box office this Christmas, new year and the beginning of 2010. The new trailer is simply amazing. The trailer contains so much footage that I’ve made a frame by frame gallery so you actually can see all of the scenes thats in there.

There’s at least one photo from every scene in the trailer, a total of 157 photos, all in high quality.

The story’s protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former U.S. Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Na’vi, a sentient humanoid race, who are considered primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. Standing three meters tall (approximately 10 feet), with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Na’vi live in harmony with their unspoiled world.

International trailer for Avatar best yet and reveals story elements, plus a new behind-the-scenes featurette

If there were any doubts whether Avatar will be epic, after watching this international trailer for James Cameron’s new sci-fi war thriller, these doubts are now decimated as far as I’m concerned. The new trailer reveals new story elements centering on how Sam Worthington’s character Jake Sully actually gets to the planet of Pandora,...

Video Behind The Scenes Look Of Avatar

Good old Nix just posted the international trailer for you and I’ll add this cool behind the scenes view of how “Avatar” was first imagined and then brought to the screen.
James Cameron claims he had a dream where the planet, setting, characters and story came to him and I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that. I’m the trusting type. Less then two months to go before we see what James has been up to all these years. Can’t wait. Via Aintitcool.

The New Avatar Trailer Arrives: Do You Still Care?

All that buzz, all that Comic Con gushing, it all went away when the first trailer for James Cameron’s “Avatar” landed online three months ago with quite possibly the biggest THUD in modern cinema. Let’s face it, it was kind of underwhelming. It was overly cartoony and obviously CG and nothing about it screamed “best movie of the year”. So has that changed with this second trailer? Judge for yourself.
A band of humans are pitted in a battle against an alien planet’s indigenous population for the planet’s rare natural resources.

The film will be released in 2D and 3D formats, along with an IMAX 3D release in selected theaters. The film is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic filmmaking with cameras that were specially designed for the film's production, and has already been slated for two awards.

One of the admins over at The Avatar Game’s official Facebook page just posted that the full Avatar trailer will be released in theaters this Friday, October 23rd and then released online next Thursday, October 29th.

A New, Lengthy Avatar Trailer To Arrive In Front Of Movies This Weekend

I love going to movies but one of the things that always gets me is when I’m seeing a movie I want to watch but am not thrilled to see and a trailer that looks awesome and better than the movie I’m about to watch crashes my party.
This might be the case this weekend as “Avatar” is getting a juicy new trailer providing some serious competition for whatever film might be following it. Coming Soon says it’ll clock in at 3 minutes and 30 seconds of presumably awesome. Apparently this will be the trailer of note, showcasing more story elements, crazy action, etc. It will not be in 3D though from the looks of it. We won’t be getting the trailer ourselves for a few days after and I know it’ll be great but don’t even think of judging this movie based on a snapshot 2D view.

Legendary Getting Mystical with Ellis’ “Gravel”

As avid readers of this series (and much of author Warren Ellis’ work), we’re excited to report that Legendary Pictures has picked up film rights to “Gravel,” the comicbook series created by Ellis and published by Avatar Press. Project revolves around the character William Gravel, a soldier in the British S.A.S. who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for clients in order to make some extra cash. Ellis introduced the character in a 1999 limited series of graphic novels published under the title “Strange Kiss.” He will pen the initial draft of the screenplay for the pic and serve as executive producer on the project.
